Eight years ago I opened my first gym in London.
My dadĀ said:Ā “You don’t make money lifting weights.” I’m writing this from my pool in Malibu.
Sometimes even those who love us the most doubt that we will succeed.
They transfer their fears, caution, and insecurities onto us in an attempt to protect us from the big bad world.
I’m not saying don’t listen to them – afterĀ all, fools rush in where angels fear to tread, but I am saying that you need toĀ listenĀ to your heart as well as your head.
I hesitate to give this advice because the world seemsĀ more fullĀ of delusional, fame-hungry, materialistic fools than at any other time in human history, but you should learn to listen to your gut feeling and if something feels wrong then walk away, and if it feels right then go for it.
But don’t do what 99% of people do and “go for it” for a few weeks or a few months.
You’ve got to go for it for years, you’ve got to attack your goal as if your life depends upon it.
If you don’t doĀ thatĀ then you’re just relying onĀ luckĀ and only a fool puts his fate in the hands of the Gods.
